CNC Operator – Woodworking Nested Based Router

CNC Operator – Woodworking Nested Based Router
Leading Edge Composites is seeking a CNC Router Operator. The candidate must have experience in woodworking/composite nested based manufacturing and CAM. Experience with popular wood industry CNCs like Thermwood is a major advantage.
Responsibilities:
· Load and unload the machine
· Initiate programs and operate CNC for best quality output
· Process pre-written nests per production requirements
· Spot check – quality control as parts are milled
· Maintain tooling database
· Conduct Preventative Maintenance
· Clearly communicate with assembly downstream
· Maintain all paperwork per ISO documentation
Qualifications:
· Good attitude – team player
· 2+ years’ experience operating a CNC and 3 axis milling machine
· Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues
· 5 Axis Thermwood experience will move you to the front of the line.
· Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. on occasion.

Quality Control Inspector

Reports To: Quality Manager
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Summary:
Perform dimensional inspection of incoming and outgoing materials, parts and assemblies. Maintain company quality standards by inspecting and approving incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products. Document results of quality inspections. Perform review of quality records and documentation for release of finished goods.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Perform inspections of purchased parts, subassemblies or finished company products according to defined criteria using standard physical, mechanical and/ or electrical measurements
· Accurately document the results of the inspections and testing
· Maintain all controlled document files and test records in a timely and accurate manner
· Monitor critical equipment and instrumentation to ensure proper operation and calibration
· Assist in the writing and updating inspection procedures, protocol and checklists
· Review blueprints, drawings, specifications, customer quality clauses and then document requirements for Inspection Test Plans
· Evaluate problems, make initial recommendations for possible corrective action to supervisor
· Work as part of an inspection team to address constraints in incoming and final QC workflow.
· Maintain flexibility to address needs and issues as they are identified
· Initiate MRB process for nonconforming product or materials
· Perform other duties as required.

Education, Training, Skills and Experience Requirements:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate degree or higher desired)
2. 3-5+ years of experience in manufacturing quality environment or 3+ years in a regulated industry or aerospace quality environment
3. Meticulous attention to details both in documentation and reporting of results
4. Must have good written English and verbal communication skills
5. Good arithmetic skills are required
6.Working knowledge of measurement instrumentation
7. General mechanical aptitude
8.General proficiency of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word

Desired Skills/Qualifications:
Associate degree or higher
Experience with AS9100, ISO13485, or equivalent regulated industries

Experience with CMM metrology a plus
Safety management/experience a plus
ASQ CQI certification a plus
Internal audit experience a plus

Layup Technician

Job Title: Layup Technician II
Department: Operations
Reports To: Layup Supervisor
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Summary:
Fabrication of composite parts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Perform advanced lay-up techniques (with or without core) using pre-preg material and wet lay-up
· Use advanced hand/power tools in a safe and efficient manner in order to shape and form components
· Skilled in the use of special tools and equipment to include precision measuring devices such as scales, micrometers, and calipers
· Prepare composite components for the curing process by applying proper vacuum bagging methods and procedures
· Ensure parts meet all quality standards and guidelines prior to presenting for inspection
· Quality of work consistently meets and occasionally exceeds expectations**
· Perform simple composite repairs when needed
· Maintain a neat and orderly work area and comply with all safety regulations (PPE, MSDS, etc.)
· Demonstrates the ability to work in a team environment
· Ability to interpret advanced engineering drawings
· Requires minimum supervision
· Perform other duties as required

· 3+ years as a layup technician

· Ability to perform basic math calculations

Fabrication Technician

Department: Operations
Reports To: Fabrication Supervisor
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Summary:
Fabricate and assembly of composite parts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Fabricate and assemble composite parts to tolerances as specified on drawings.
· Locate and layout trim lines onto the workpiece
Trim, drill, ream, countersink, grind, and finish composite parts to specifications using hand or power tools
Verify dimensions of parts, using precision instruments such as dial indicators, micrometers, and calipers
Bond and/or assemble subassemblies to form final assemblies
· Install hardware, such as hinges, hinge blocks, panel pins, inserts, ​etc.
· Mix ingredients, such as resins, catalysts, fillers, and/or accelerators according to manufacturer’s instructions
· Perform other duties as required

· High School Diploma or equivalent
· Ability to read and interpret technical data such as blueprints or manufacturer’s instructions.
· Ability to perform basic math calculations
